Thus, it is focused on players fighting with another player, the whole faction of player fighting with another section, etc. Additionally, it also allows for creating unique plots where players compete with one another to build structures.
It also includes mini-games where shovels and snowballs are turned into weapons. Besides, it also incorporates games where mansions are turned into grounds for police and robbers variant.
How Do Minecraft Servers Work?
When playing with the Minecraft servers, you can opt for a single-player game or multiplayer game. However, when you opt to play with other people, four options are available, including:
- Local Area Network
- Online server game
- Minecraft Realms
- Split Screen
Nevertheless, the Minecraft server version must be the same for each player. You can also observe the game version number at the bottom of your main menu screen.
Local Area Network
The Minecraft server works when you provide access to the Local Area Network to other players. To play with other players, select a computer as a host. The laptop should function fast enough to play a Minecraft server while connected to other players.
Later, launch the game and select ‘single world’ at first. Once you enter the ‘single world,’ press the Esc button. Then select the open to LAN option. At that point, you can choose the game mode for other players. The survival mode includes games with life points and hunger, but the creative way allows players to fly and place infinite blocks. Additionally, adventure mode is similar to survival mode, but you can’t identify or destroy blocks.
Moreover, you can also opt for options such as turn on/off the cheat commands. Once you have set all these options, select Start LAN world. Afterward, a message block will appear to notify that a local game has been hosted. Other players connected to the same network can also join the fun. Once a player selects the option of Multiplayer, the computer will detect it automatically.
Online Server
This option includes playing on an online server by connecting and locating a multiplayer server’s IP address. You can also opt to download it, or you can join another server of a player.
However, to join the server of a player, log into the Minecraft account first. Afterward, select the Multiplayer option from the main menu, and click the Add Server option. Next, enter the IP address of a server.
However, if you don’t know any server’s IP address, you can opt to locate the IP address of a public server. It can be carried out through a web search, which suits your style of play.
Minecraft Realms
A Minecraft realm is a multiplayer server. The setup is easy and quick, which allows up to ten players to play simultaneously.
Split Screen
Split-screen allows playing games on all consoles, which includes Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and Play Station. However, it will enable up to four players to play on the same screen simultaneously. To play using a split-screen server, start the game and connect your controllers. Once clicked, it will automatically divide the monitor into a player-specific screen, which means one player.
At this point, you are familiar with what Minecraft servers are and how do they work. You can establish a giant working train system in creative mode. However, turn down and survive the onslaught of zombies in survival mode. Additionally, you can also select a huge mansion to explore and invite other players to solve its puzzle in Adventure mode.
