Left 4 Dead 3: Release Date, Trailer, News

It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost 11 years since the release of the critically-acclaimed survival game, Left 4 Dead. Feeling old yet? Just a year later back in 2009, Left 4 Dead 2 came out on Steam for everyone to enjoy. Even though many fans appreciated the speedy turnover time, most players thought that L4D2 was rushed and completely unnecessary. But here we are, ten years later, without a third game in the series. A game that zombie enthusiasts are now craving like the Boomers crave brains.

Valve is very much aware of the jokes people are making about them not being able to count to three. And as far as we are aware, there’s still no Left 4 Dead 3. Since there have been no official announcements from Valve, the fan-made leaks are so obviously fake. But is there any official news on Left 4 Dead 3? Or, more specifically, will Left 4 Dead 3 ever be released? Below we have listed some of the latest news and rumors surrounding Left 4 Dead 3.

Left 4 Dead 3 News

Unfortunately, nothing has officially been confirmed regarding the development of Left 4 Dead 3. Since the gap between Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 was extremely small, we assume that if L4D3 is in development.

Valve is taking its time with this one.

Left 4 Dead 3 Release Date

Considering Valve hasn’t even acknowledged the existence of Left 4 Dead 3, an official release date is just a fantasy. Maybe Vale is secretly developing Left 4 Dead 3, maybe we are all hoping for something that will never be. After all, Valve requires a good reason to revisit an old franchise, and truthfully, the company’s focus is primarily on Steam.

Left 4 Dead 3: Will It Ever Be Released?

Valve is responsible for making the Half-Life games, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Portal 2, Team Fortress 2 and Dota 2—games that continue to rake in tons of money. Additionally, the studio is making billions of dollars owing to the fact that it takes around 30% of all Steam sales. So why would Valve develop another Left 4 Dead game right now?

There is certainly money to be made with these sequels. Albeit, after a while, games lose their appeal. According to Steam Charts, around 10,000 people still play Left 4 Dead 2 to this day. Sure, that’s a lot of players, but it certainly doesn’t compare to the 300,000 to 400,000 gamers who play Counter-Strike: Global Offensive each month. What’s more, Counter-Strike has made around $120 million, so it’s no wonder Valve’s main focus is Steam.

With that said, there’s a huge chance that Valve isn’t working on Left 4 Dead 3 at all. We don’t even have a trailer for the game and so we are still waiting for it to be announced. For now, we will just have to sit back and wait for the sequel to one of the most awesome horror games that were ever released.

Who Is Developing Left 4 Dead 3?

Ever since Turtle Rock Studios (the developer behind Left 4 Dead) announced that it is working on a new co-op zombie shooter known as Back 4 Blood, we can pretty much say that Turtle Rock isn’t involved with L4D3. If the game is in development, it will most likely be in the hands of Valve, the developer of Left 4 Dead 2.

Saying that, since we know nothing about Left 4 Dead 3, it’s nothing but a theory based on some rumors—so we can’t rule anything out just yet.

Left 4 Dead 3 Gameplay

Left 4 Dead 2 is a game that takes you through an apocalyptic world with five different campaigns and a variety of different terrain. Each environment tells a different story as you attempted to survive in the cruel, zombie-filled world. Even though the second installment in the series came out only a year after the original game, we were impressed by the new campaigns and distinctive game modes featured in L4D2—something we want from Left 4 Dead 3.

Owing to how technology has improved over the past ten years, Left 4 Dead 3 has the potential to be something spectacular. In order to improve the series further, we’d definitely like to see more characters, a range of badass weapons, and different types of special infected. However, it’s hard to determine what the developers will do with the game since we know absolutely nothing about Left 4 Dead 3.

Left 4 Dead 3 Characters

Although we aren’t certain as to what other characters may be included in Left 4 Dead 3, we are sure that the cast of characters in the previous two games will be featured. In Left 4 Dead 1 and Left 4 Dead 2 there are four protagonists of the game: Bill, Louis, Francis, and Zoey. These characters are not only fun and witty, but each of them has their own unique personality that shines as you play.

There’s no denying that these characters and their background make the game, so we’d like to see those characters return if Valve decides to turn Left 4 Dead into a threequel.

Left 4 Dead 3 Rumors: Are They True?

Seeing as though Left 4 Dead 3 isn’t confirmed yet, the rumors surrounding the game are, well, just rumors. But are any of the rumors actually true? Let’s find out in the list of Left 4 Dead 3 rumors below.

Left 4 Dead 3 Concept Trailer: Is It Real?

Back in May 2019, a video with a mysterious title appeared out of nowhere under the YouTube account ‘Clusterflu961’. At first glance, it looked like a trailer for Left 4 Dead 3 with a four-fingered hand.

Initially, the video was titled ‘‘20190611wVLACgXBSwO4eVv.021162_h264’—a title that included a hidden reference to a June 11 2019 ‘release date’. In the video, you can see tonnes of Left 4 Dead references, such as the safe room map and the famous ‘pills here’ pill bottles. Unfortunately, moments after the Left 4 Dead 3 Concept Trailer went live, Valve confirmed that it is fake. In spite of the fact that the concept trailer is most certainly fake, it looks absolutely fantastic.

Left 4 Dead 3 Screenshots

Back in April, Valve News Network’s Tyler McVicker shared a video and an Imgur gallery that contained 29 screenshots which are allegedly from Left 4 Dead 3. As you can see from the above image, the screenshots are dull and honestly pretty boring. Though, to be fair, these images appear to be unfinished concepts. At first glance, you’d probably assume that these screenshots are from Counter-Strike: Global Offensive—in fact, they could be from any game.

Nevertheless, it’s fairly safe to say they these screenshots aren’t from Left 4 Dead 3.

Left 4 Dead 3 Facebook Tease

Back in February, a strange thing happened when you clicked on the Facebook logo on the official Left 4 Dead website. The first notable change was that the URL had become associated with Valve developer, Ted Carson. The second most obvious change was the banner that showed a hand with three fingers. As it was fairly convincing, rumors spread around the internet like wildfire.

But once the next image was released, we knew the “teaser” was just a hoax. The image displayed the same three-fingered hand, but this time, it was holding a card with the caption: “The Left 4 Dead card game.” From here on out we knew a troll had hijacked the official Left 4 Dead Facebook page and therefore Left 4 Dead has not yet been confirmed.

Final Words

So, there you have it, all of the Left 4 Dead 3 news and rumors that we are currently aware of. As there isn’t an official trailer or even an announcement from Valve, the game is likely never going to be made. If it is secretly in development, we probably won’t see the game for a while—sorry Left 4 Dead fans.

However, there might be other upcoming games that might excite you until we get more clear information on Left 4 Dead 3 release date.
