There’s no doubt that Kingdom Hearts 3 is an exciting RPG that had us all in awe, but it certainly wouldn’t be as thrilling without the range of Keyblades available. In each fascinating Disney-themed world you rescue from the Heartless, you’ll unlock a new Keyblade, opening up a wide range of playstyles and new abilities for you to use in battle.
In addition to this, Formchanges and Kingdom Key leveling has been added to the game, making the third installment in the beloved Kingdom Hearts series arguable the most intriguing. Be that as it may, Keyblades aren’t just there to look at in admiration.
In combat, the Keyblades are even better, with each one offering different abilities, strength and magic used to protect yourself from your enemies.
Since every Keyblade functions differently, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, you should probably know what each one does before you go ahead and create your own personal arsenal. In this guide, we’ll explain every Keyblade in Kingdom Hearts 3, their base stats, abilities, Formchanges as well as how to obtain them in-game.
How to Obtain a Keyblade
Before we jump straight into the deep end, you should first be aware of how to obtain a Keyblade in Kingdom Hearts 3. Used to fight against the Heartless, Keyblades can be obtained simply by playing through the main story or by completing specific tasks.

Once obtained, you can upgrade each Keyblade to make it grow stronger for battle. We’ll discuss how to upgrade a Keyblade later on in the article, but for now, let’s take a look at all of the Keyblades found in Kingdom Hearts 3.

Now, let’s take a look at Kingdom Hearts 3 DLC Keyblades.
Kingdom Hearts 3 ReMind DLC Keyblades
The most recent Kingdom Hearts Re Mind DLC released in January 2020 features a brand new campaign, the typical bug fixes, and game enhancements, as well as some returning Keyblades for you to use in combat. Referred to as Oblivion and Oathkeeper, both Keyblades can be obtained in the free version 1.07 update.
Although you’ll have to work extra hard if you want to use them in combat against the Heartless.
Below, we have explained how to obtain both the Oathkeeper and the Oblivion in Kingdom Hearts 3:
Oathkeeper
The Oathkeeper is a powerful Keyblade that can be obtained by finding all 90 Lucky Emblems scattered throughout the world. Once you have found all of the Lucky Emblems, you will be gifted an item known as Proof of Promises. You will then need to trade this in at the Moogle Shop in order to obtain the Oathkeeper Keyblade.
Upon obtaining the weapon, you’ll notice that it’s much stronger in comparison to some of the other Keyblades on this list, with base stats including strength 7 and magic 8. Oathkeeper also boasts Formchange Extender, MP Converter and Situation Boost, as well as the ability to use Light and Double Form. It truly doesn’t get much cooler than that. Or does it?
Oblivion
If you think finding all 90 Lucky Emblems is hard, try beating Kingdom Hearts 3 on the Critical Difficulty mode. Which is exactly what you’ll have to do if you wish to get your hands on the Oblivion key. As a reward for beating the game on Critical Difficulty mode, you will receive an item known as Proof of the Past.
Once you have the item in hand, you must head over to the Moogle Shop and trade it in for the Oblivion Keyblade. When it comes to stats, the Oblivion Keyblade features base stats of strength 8 and magic 7. As for the Formchanges, Oblivion brags Dark and Double Form OBV and the abilities HP Converter and Situation Boost.
Pre-Order Bonus Keyblades
Just like many other past and upcoming releases, Kingdom Hearts 3 features pre-order bonuses including three bonus Keyblades. Do note that you won’t be able to obtain all of them on a single console, so if you don’t own both an Xbox One and a PlayStation 4, you’ll just have to miss out on a fancy new Keyblade.
With that being said, let’s take a look at the three pre-order bonus Keyblades in Kingdom Hearts 3:
Midnight Blue
The first pre-order Keyblade on our list is a pre-order bonus unique to the PlayStation Store. Midnight Blue is essentially a Star Seeker variant that is, as you may have guessed, all blue to resemble the PlayStation 4 color palette.
With a Blizzard Up ability, Midnight Blue will increase the damage of blizzard attacks and Blizangan in combat. When it comes to base stats, Midnight Blue starts off with strength 4 and magic 4, though like every other Keyblade in the game, this one can be upgraded.
Phantom Green
If you pre-ordered Kingdom Hearts 3 for the Xbox One, you probably already know about the Phantom Green Keyblade. As to be expected, this one is exclusive to the Xbox One version of the game purchased via the Microsoft Store. As with the Midnight Blue Keyblade, the Phantom Green blade is basically a pallete swap of the Star Seeker.
Featuring a green, red and blue keychain, the Phantom Green Keyblade is comparable to the Xbox One controller. When it comes to abilities, this one features a Thunder Up ability used to increase the damage of thunder attacks and Thundangan. It also starts with the same base stats as the previous pre-order Keyblade on our list.
Dawn Till Dusk
No matter what edition of Kingdom Hearts 3 you ordered on Amazon, you will have received a Dawn Till Dusk Keyblade. No, not From Dusk till Dawn, just Dawn Till Dusk. Inspired by 7-Eleven, this pre-order exclusive Keyblade is a palette swap of Star Cluster, a Keyblade very similar to the classic Kingdom Key.
This 7-Eleven themed blade also has a Fire Up ability that fittingly increases the damage of fire attacks as well as the Firagan situational command. A 7-Eleven themed key that increases the damage fire attacks? You’d be lying if you said you didn’t want this in your arsenal.
Where Can I Buy Kingdom Hearts 3 Pre-Order Keyblades?
If you didn’t manage to pre-order the game back in 2019, don’t lose hope. You can currently purchase the Dawn Till Dusk Keyblade on the PlayStation Store for a mere £2.49. If you prefer to play Kingdom Hearts 3 on the Xbox One, you can purchase the Phantom Green Keyblade from the Microsoft Store for only £2.39.

Unfortunately, if you’re based outside of Japan, you won’t be able to purchase the Midnight Blue Keyblade from the PlayStation Store. If you can access the Japanese PlayStation Store, you’ll be happy to know that the Midnight Blue Keyblade is available for 330 Yen.
How to Upgrade a Keyblade in Kingdom Hearts 3
In Kingdom Hearts 3, you can not only level up characters, but you can also level up Sora’s Keyblades to increase their stats and strengthen their abilities. You can simply do this by earning experience in the game, but you can also level up Keyblades in the Moogle Shop.
Once you’re in the shop, you’re going to want to head to the Workshop options. From here, you should be able to see Keyblade Forge. This is where you will be able to use all of the materials you have collected as you complete Kingdom Hearts 3.
First, you’re going to need a material known as Fluorite and Wellspring Shard. If you have the appropriate materials, you can go ahead and level up your Keyblade, if you don’t, you’ll have to go out and find the appropriate items. By doing all of this, you will increase the base strength and magic stats of the Keyblade you choose.
As a result, your weapons will become more powerful and therefore you will improve in combat against the Heartless.
Conclusion
Every single Keyblade in Kingdom Hearts 3 is strong in its own way, the problem is choosing the right one for you and your unique playstyle. Some feature higher base stats than others, while many are fairly challenging to obtain in the first place.
