How the Ranking System of Apex Legends Work

A free popular e-sport that made its surprise entry back in February 2019 and is known for its exciting multiplayer gaming features, Apex Legends by Respawn entertainment, is the talk of the town recently for its newly-introduced ranked leagues. The alternate option of switching to this mode is undoubtedly the best feature this game has introduced in its series and has been attracting more and more competitive gamers every other day.

Apex Legends has acquired a huge following in a very short span of time and in fact, it doesn’t seem to stop anytime soon due to the very fact that it has too much to offer in return for very little or no investment. All you need is a good internet connection and yes of course ^game tactics^, and there’s no stopping you from becoming a pro at it. But the question here is – t how are these ranked leagues different? How the ranking system of Apex legends work? A series of other questions follow but no worries, we have got your back. We have got answers to all your ‘Hows’ in this article.

How The Ranking System Of Apex Legends Works?

This Battle Royale game is divided into different tiers and divisions. To promote to the next division or tier and take part in different matches, you need to pay a certain amount which is fixed for different tiers in the form of RP, that is Ranking Points. There are seven different tiers available in the game lately including Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master, and Apex Predator. All these names are mentioned in the order, starting from the lowest level to the highest. All these tiers have divisions further (except for Master and Apex Predator), such as Bronze I, II, III, and IV; the lowest level, in this case, would be level IV, you can get promoted to level III, then II and finally to the level I.

Moreover, once you switch to another tier, you will not drop back to the previous one no matter how many points you lose. You may drop from level IV to III but dropping from let’s say Platinum to Gold would not be the case and that’s guaranteed. The entry costs for different tiers are different, starting from the highest:

  • Apex Predator- 60 RP
  • Master- 60 RP
  • Diamond- 48 RP
  • Platinum- 36 RP
  • Gold- 24 RP
  • Silver- 12 RP
  • Bronze- 0 RP

For Bronze, you would need to enter no cost whereas as the levels increase the entry fee amount increases. Once you pay the entry fee and have joined the lobby, your current net RP would be displayed and tracked on the screen.

Well, the game is not about just attaining the RP required for entry only but also the points to be achieved to advance to the next tier.

The RPs needed to excel to a particular tier are listed as follows, starting from the highest:

  • Apex Predator- Only the top 750 players make it to this tier based on their RP per platform
  • Master- 10,000 RP
  • Diamond- 7200 RP
  • Platinum- 4800 RP
  • Gold- 2800 RP
  • Silver- 1200 RP
  • Bronze- 0 RP

In the previous games, Master was not on the list, and making it to the last level Apex Predator had become a piece of cake for many. To make the game more challenging and increase competition amongst the best players, the limit of 500 to 750 top players was later set for the last level and the Master level was also introduced with the entry cost and RP required as previously set for Apex Predator.

How to Attain RPs?

The answer is simple— you will be rewarded with RP after every match on the basis of your progress in the game, the kills, assists, and placements.

To key to become a pro at this game, in fact in any game, is consistency as well as focus; you lose these two you lose the game. No matter how tough the challenge becomes, keep playing rather quitting; this act is highly discouraged. Upon deliberate attempts of quitting, not only the gamer loses the RP spent on the entry fee but also whatever earned so far. But sometimes, the quitting is not intentional and it happens abruptly either due to poor internet connection or backing out of the other team players or can be any other unfortunate events. If the system detects that the quitting is sudden, the loss forgiveness system comes to the rescue which helps avoid the loss of RPs. A limit of three forgiveness abandons is there, so that the players do not misuse it. Respawn keeps monitoring if the consequent abandons were out of control too or intentional.

You may have heard of the ranked splits. If not, Respawn has split the regular season into two. There are soft resets after each split that keep the game engaging and that was basically the whole ideology of the developers. Upon the transition to the next split, your tier will drop by 1.5. For example, if you ended at Platinum II in the first split, you are likely to start from Gold IV in split two. Also, the maps may be different in the two different splits too.

The idea behind introducing exciting changes and making the game more challenging is to draw more engagements and bring out the best from the best players online. When playing with friends, you don’t get to play a match with your friend on the same tier. For example, if you are on Gold III you will be queued up with your friend ranking on Platinum II. Difficult no? Well, that’s how a real game is played!

To enjoy a more happening match with more experienced players, gamers often opt for Apex Legends boosting services where they get to boost their tier without having to do anything themselves – a third party does it for them by playing on their behalf!

All the matches in the game are fully monitored and thus no player is rewarded less than what he deserves. These game series have been in full bloom since its release and with the seemingly endless top-notch features, we wonder where they would stop.
