VR gaming is an experience like no other. If you had told me 20 years ago that I could be inside of a video game and walk around, I would have laughed at you and slowly backed away. Get Wired!

But all you Meta Quest 2 users will need to suck it up and grab a cable. Meta Quest 2 offers a wireless option called Air-Link, and if you want to give it a shot, go for it. But you’ll soon see that using a cable provides a much smoother gaming experience.
All you’ll need is a USB-C to USB-3.0 or higher cable. Make sure to get one long enough to cover your play area. 15-20ft should be more than enough. Your PC also needs to have a USB-3.0 or higher port as well. If you’re not sure, look inside the USB port. USB-3.0 ports are always blue. The same applies to the cable; look for the blue. Unlike charging cables that simply transfer power, these cables are meant for transferring data. So don’t skip this step, or you’ll be scratching your head wondering why nothing is working. And yes, it will also charge your headset while you’re using it.
But before you Quest users plug it in, be sure to download and install the free Meta Quest app and follow its setup procedures. If you followed the previous steps correctly, it should be a quick and painless process. Then simply put on your headset and click the desktop icon. That will open up a virtual replica of your PC’s desktop inside your headset. Navigate to where you installed your new game (we’ll cover that next) and launch it. Bada-Bing, Bada-Boom!
