10 Games in 2022 You Must Play

This year we were treated to some truly incredible games. Titles such as Death Loop, Hitman 3, and Resident Evil Village. However, as the year comes to an end, we look forward to 2022 and what next year has in store.

Brand new racing games, a fresh online casino game or two, action, adventure games, and everything in between will be released in the coming months. Here are some of the best games that are being released next year.

God of War Ragnarok

The much-anticipated sequel to God of War, Ragnarok, will tell the tale of the end of days in Norse mythology. Considering Ragnarok is when the Norse gods die, Kratos had already set the events in motion when he killed Baldur in the previous game.

Concrete story details still aren’t known, but Ragnarok is set to be one of, if not the biggest game of 2022. Whether you have been a fan of the series or not, play the last title in the series to catch up before the Ragnarok release.

Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world adventure game made in the same style as World of Warcraft. Set in the 1800s, long before Harry Potter, you can build and develop your character, learn magic and potions, team up with other players and defeat enemies.

As mentioned, it is similar to WoW in the sense that there is no real story to follow; you can do whatever you want to do in the magical world.

Pokemon Legends Arceus

The next installment in the Pokemon series is hitting the shelves in January next year. The game is set in the early 19th century, in an area known as Hisui, which would later become Sinnoh.

Your job is to go into the wilds of Hisui and discover all the wild Pokemon, finding them and catching them to create the first Pokedex of the area. With many new features and additions to Legends Arceus that we haven’t seen before, it is set to be one of the best Pokemon games we’ve seen in years.

Saints Row

The Saints Row series’s next title is based in a fictional city known as Santo Ileso. The city is controlled by three different gangs, each with its own business interests and modus operandi.

Not much is known about the game, but we know that the city will be broken up into sections that you, as the player, must work to take over. All of this is wrapped in the edgy and famous Saints Row style.

Dying Light 2: Stay Human

The sequel to the incredible Dying Light, Stay Human takes us back to the zombie-infested world from the first game but is set 20 years after the events of the first title. Taking on the role of a new protagonist, players find themselves in a new environment too, the City.

The new map is four times bigger than the one we experienced in the first game, and being open-world, players can explore almost every inch of it. There are different areas, new things to find, and of course, zombies.

Rainbow 6 Extraction

The long-awaited sequel to R6 Siege, Extraction is a cooperative-style multiplayer game where teams of three must work through three interconnected maps to complete 12 different objectives, all while fighting and defeating invading aliens.

This unique style of games takes inspiration from Apex Legends in the sense that the three teammates need to work together and combine their skills. It also has the R6 feel and style that fans of the series have fallen in love with.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land

Kirby is finally getting a new game, and Forgotten Land could be one of the best yet. Kirby wakes up on an unknown beach in an almost prehistoric time where nature and people have become one, and the island inhabitants want nothing but to defeat Kirby.

The 3D game looks to play similarly to other 3D Kirby games, and considering it will be on the Switch; it could be a contender for game of the year.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns

Coming to stores in March of 2022, Midnight Suns is a tactical role-playing game set in the Marvel Universe. You play as The Hunter, a completely customizable character, as you fight alongside Marvel heroes in turn-based action.

Firaxis Games, the developer of Midnight Suns, also created XCOM, and their new title is in the same style as their hit turn-based game. You will be joined by Marvel fan-favorites such as Blade, Doctor Strange, Iron Man, Wolverine, Ghost Rider, and many more.

Splatoon 3

Splatoon 3 is an upcoming release in the beloved Splatoon series. Players can enjoy the same high-intensity multiplayer action, as well as a single-player story mode. The third game also adds new power-ups and weapons for players to choose from.

Turf War will also be making a return to the game. This mode sees two teams of four compete to cover as much of the map as possible in their team paint. Easily one of the best modes in the series.

Lord of the Rings: Gollum

Not much is known about this title, LoTR: Gollum, but players will take on the role of the skulking character in a time before the events of The Hobbit and the main trilogy. Considering the ring extended Gollum’s life, there is a lot that players will discover.

J.R.R Tolkien famously left behind massive stacks of stories and lore connected to Middle Earth, meaning players will be able to enjoy a very unique and detailed story attached to the skulking former Hobbit.
