The hotly anticipated FIFA 21 Community team of the season awards are open for voting.
EA Sports promoted the event on the 16th of April, revealing the 100 players that fans could vote for, to recognize the players that EA has ignored this season.
Each of these players has only earned a maximum of one special card during the season, and it includes the likes of Tottenham Hotspur’s Tanguy Ndombele, Leicester City’s Harvey Barnes, and Everton’s Lucas Digne.
This article will take a look at five of the top Premier League stars that deserve a bit of recognition.
Goalkeeper: Kasper Schmeichel –Â Leicester City
The 34-year-old shot-stopper has kept 10 clean sheets for the Foxes so far this season, playing an important role in what will be their highest finish in the league since they were Champions.
Schmeichel is rated 85 in FIFA 21, with his highest goalkeeping attributes in reflexes (90), and diving (84).
Defender: Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Manchester United
United’s defensive stalwart Wan-Bissaka has been a consistent performer in the Red Devils set-up this season.
The right-back has played a part in helping United to chase down rivals Manchester City. It is unlikely that the Reds will be able to catch the Citizens, but their form is still brilliant at the moment with five wins in their last five league matches.
Wan-Bissaka is strong defensively and is capable of starting attacks. In FIFA 21 he has fantastic defensive attributes such as a 91 rated slide tackle, a 86 stand tackle, coupled with impressive physical stats. Just as in real life, in FIFA 21 Wan-Bissaka is quick off the mark, with 88 rated sprint speed, 84 acceleration, and the agility and reactions to match (85 and 82).
Midfielder: Tanguy Ndombele – Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham is having a torrid time of it at the moment, but Ndombele is one of the shining lights in the Spurs squad.
He is underrated on the pitch but also in FIFA 21: this is how they were rated on the most current version.
Despite that criminal rating, Ndombele has three goals and two assists and has a crucial role in driving the Spurs forward through the midfield.
Midfielder: Oliver Skipp – Norwich City
To shake things up a bit, we have included Spurs loanee Oliver Skipp in this top five, since he is having an impressive spell at the Canaries on loan thus far, playing a key role in helping them to bounce back to the Premier League.
Interestingly, per 90, Skipp has created as many chances per 90 as Ndombele (0.7), with the same number of assists per 90 (0.1) having played 13 more games.
Skipp’s in-game rating is a lowly 68, but a FIFA 21 Community TOTS card could bump up his stats to reflect his true potential of becoming Spurs’ future captain.
Attacker: Michail Antonio – West Ham United.
West Ham is another side that has performed well throughout the season, currently sitting in fourth above Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs.
Michael Antonio has been a good source of goals with seven to his name thus far, along with five assists. Compared with Harry Kane, he pales in comparison, except his chances created per game are much closer in similarity, with around 1.3 chances created per game for Antonio and 1.5 for Kane.
In FIFA 21, Antonio has a 78 rating, with great physical stats of 84 overall and a decent pace to match (85).
Last year Antonio received two special cards, including a POTM special which upgraded his rating to an 86 overall, with 95 rated pace, 91 physicalities, and 85 shooting, making for a strong card indeed. A community TOTS card could see Antonio’s stats reach these heights and further when the votes close on Wednesday.
